WHO WE ARE

ABOUT US

We are Donna and Rich McAlpine and we are Balance Management. After several years of test-driving different locations in BC, Alberta, and Queensland Australia, we arrived in Winnipeg in 2016 and realized we found our forever home. We were struck by Winnipeg’s history, beauty, and bitterly cold but oh-so-sunny winters. It also helped that we could afford to buy a house here.

In 2021 we put together an investment group with family and friends to build wealth in Winnipeg’s stable and affordable real estate market, armed with decades of construction and project management experience and a passion for real estate.

Balance Management works exclusively with this investment group. Being owners in both, we have full control over the buildings we buy, the level of quality of the renovations, and the ongoing management of the rental spaces. We want to provide comfortable and affordable living spaces, and inspiring work spaces that allow Winnipeggers to grow their businesses and find Balance in their lives.

We love this city, even with its pot holes, bad drivers, and many, many social issues. This last bit helps drive our approach to business. We want to be a part of the solution to some of Winnipeg’s issues rather than shy away from them. Hence our first big project was a neglected 11,000 square foot office building in South Point Douglas. We’re excited to get started and ready to welcome our first tenants in the new co-work space. Get in on the ground floor of something great. Or the second floor – it has an amazing view of the Red River.
